You must be 21 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If Citrus County Chronicle cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.
Only one registered account per voter. If multiple accounts are detected for a single voter, they will be disabled and votes disqualified.
Citrus County Chronicle reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
Citrus County Chronicle reserves the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within a 60 mile radius of the affiliate's' office.
Employees of Citrus County Chronicle, its respective parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.
Entrants further grant to Citrus County Chronicle the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.
Citrus County Chronicle reserves the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
The Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are copyright, UPICKEM, and/or Citrus County Chronicle. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.
UPICKEM and Citrus County Chronicle are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.
All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.
Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.

Rules for Shoe Your Support Competition 2018
Terms:
Contestant – The entity that submits a pair of decorated shoes for display and judging, which may include individuals, corporations, community groups, churches, and independent foundations.
Submission – The decorated shoe(s) and other required information as described in the rules below.
Competition – The period of time from September 1, 2018 through October 20, 2018 that includes collection, display, and judging of Submissions.
Rules:
- Eligibility -- Any individual of any age or gender is eligible to participate in the Competition, as are corporations, community groups, churches, and independent foundations.
- Classes – There shall be five Classes of competition: 1) Elementary School – age 10 and under; 2) Middle School – ages 11 through 13; 3) High School – ages 14 through 18. 4) Adult – over the age of 18; 5) Group – any corporation, community group, church, or independent foundation.
- Acceptable Submissions -- Contestants will submit a pair of shoes or a single shoe decorated in any style or method they choose.Any type of shoe may be used.
- Quality of Submissions – Submissions are not required to be new shoes, but Contestants are urged to avoid using used shoes that are in an unsanitary condition. Ornaments, appliques, sequins, ribbons, and other applied objects used to decorate the shoe(s) must be firmly attached.Sewing, strong glue, and mechanical fasteners are preferred, but attachments or fasteners that can create a danger to individuals handling the shoes must not be used.Tape is not acceptable as a fastener.
- Naming of Submissions -- Decorated shoes must be given a name, and the Contestant may optionally include a creative statement of up to 100 words that explains the inspiration for the design.
How to Submit -- The Submission may be delivered to the Florida Artists Gallery, 8219 Orange Avenue, in Floral City between September 1, 2018 and the close of business October 15, 2018. (Please refer to the Florida Artists Gallery web site or Facebook page to identify the hours that the Gallery is open); or to the Citrus County Chronicle, between September 1, 2018 and the close of business October 20, 2018, 1624 N. Meadowcrest Blvd., Crystal River, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Contestants unable to deliver their Submission to the Florida Artists Gallery may call the Alzheimer’s Family Organization at 352-616-0170 to make alternative arrangements.
- Entry Fees -- At the time of submission, Contestants must fill out an official entry form (available at the Gallery, the Citrus County Chronicle, or on the AFO web site; www.alzheimersfamily.org) and pay an entry fee of $10 cash per entry (no fee for children under 13).Checks and credit cards are not accepted.
- Additional Submissions -- Contestants may submit more than one Submission to the Competition provided an entry fee is paid for each.
- Judging – All Submissions will be placed on public display at Citrus County Walk Aware for Alzheimer’s in Floral City on the morning of October 20, 2018.A “People’s Choice” fund-raising judging will be used whereby individuals may but tickets at the cost of $1 each or 6 for $5 to be used to vote on Submissions at Citrus County Walk Aware for Alzheimer’s on October 20, 2018.
- Judging Deadline – Voting tickets must be deposited at the Citrus County Walk Aware for Alzheimer’s in Floral City no later that 10 a.m. October 20, 2018.
- Awards – Awards for First, Second, and Third places in each Class will be declared and announced at Citrus County Walk Aware for Alzheimer’s at 11 a.m. on October 20, 2018.In addition to other prizes, First Place Awards in each Class will include a free ticket to the evening showing of “Still Alice,” the AFO event to be held at the Valerie Theater in Inverness on October 21, 2018.
- Display of Honor – The top three shoes in each category will be placed on display at the Valerie Theater on October 21, 2018.An award spanning all classes entitled “Best of the Chronicle” will be announced also on October 21 at the Valerie Theatre ceremony.
